The Alley Cats -- comprising Dianne Chai (bass/vocals), Randy Stodola (guitar/vocals) and John McCarthy (drums) -- were an early fixture on the Los Angeles punk scene. The group released two full length LP's : Nightmare City in 1981 and Escape from Planet Earth in 1982. The trio then changed their name to the Zarkons and proceeded to release another album in 1985: Riders in the Long Black Parade. Joined by two members (a female vocalist and a different drummer), the Zarkons then released Between the Idea and the Reality in 1988 before calling it quits. From: The Women of 1970's Punk
